Roger Cabe has been involved with Vision Outreach International and Mission Eyes Network since its inception. Having a desire for his family to experience life abroad, Roger began taking his teenage children on eye expeditions in 2002. He first traveled to Kenya as a photographer and video technician, hoping to develop resources to report eye care needs around the world. He quickly became acquainted with surgical procedures as he spent time in the surgical ward capturing stories and surgical techniques on film.
With each subsequent trip, Roger began to take on more responsibilities including clinical administration, circulation, scrubbing, instrument sterilization, doctoral assistant, and trip coordination. He has been involved in multiple ophthalmology mission efforts in Honduras, Columbia, Paraguay, Indonesia, Tanzania, Bulgaria, Kenya, and Sierra Leone. He has represented both Vision Outreach and Mission Eyes at the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Roger official join the management of Vision Outreach International and Mission Eyes Network in 2010. He brings a plethora of skills to the team. He is a creative producer with a degree in communication and nearly 25 years of experience. He is the owner and operator of Digital Recording and Communications Professionals. He is proficient in audio and video productions, web development, photography, networking, and relationship building.
Roger has been involved in full time ministry and mission work since 1981, serving in areas of worship leadership, education, youth, church administration, creative services, and technical development. Roger’s greatest desire is the help people see both physically and spiritually. He and his wife, Denise, live in Niles, MI have five children and five grandchildren.
